Graduation

I finally graduated last week with a B.A Honours Degree in Fashion Design from the Limerick School of Art and Design, L.I.T. I stayed in the gorgeous George Boutique Hotel in Limerick, the huge shower was definitely the highlight of my room. It was great catching up with all the girls at the ceremony, all of us looking so much healthier than we did back in june!!  Dinner was had in Chocolat with my boyfriend and family; the menu had a wide selection to choose from, I went with a delicious duck salad followed by thai mango chicken and a trio of desserts to finish. The After Party was held in the  Clarion Hotel where we danced until the heels were kicked under the tables and our feet ached..... :)

Laura Finnegans Portrait of Lynne Grey

This is one of my favourite portraits of all time. I love the intensity of the shot and the beautiful atmospheric qualities. Laura really captured the essence of Lynne's third year work.

River Island do Josh Goot Robot Dress

River Island have copied Josh's robot dress almost within an inch of its life from the mesh panelling to an almost exact colour.
Having worked with Josh I have mixed emotions towards River Islands contribution, anger that nothing can no longer be original but on the flipside copying is the biggest form of flatttery and may well get Josh some well deserved exposure.
Although lacking in quality and percision River Island have managed a  good take on an amazing dress

Wish List

This fab velvet jacket by Clara Bella Traynor is to die for. Hand made to perfection. I just love the dramatic shoulder details. The Collection; Opus OF wE whO are noT AS OtherS in its entirety is divine, luxurious and one of a kind. The Collection also features one off prints and exquisite embroidery.

Danielle Armstrong wears Shelley Menton

I was over the moon when Dani from Amasis asked me to make her a dress for oxegen 2010. Such a beautiful talented woman I jumped at the chance. Over some deep fried brie in Christys we discussed looks and ideas and came up with the idea of a leather dress. Having never used leather I was well up for the challenge. I sourced a couple of skins from london and nearly died with excitement the day they arrived. A few technical set backs slowed me down and left me under pressure for the deadline but I was determined and confident to finish. I was more nervous about the fitting than I was for my degree show, luckily it went smoothly. I was so happy with the finished piece. Dani rocked it too. Shelley Menton is officially open for business xx
